Who we are
Ayrshire Sites is run by Preston Rae, a sole trader based in Ayrshire, Scotland. For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What this website collects
This website has no contact form, no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may briefly process technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
When you email us
If you email us, for example to ask for a free sample, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message, such as your business name, town, links to your Facebook page or Google listing, and any photos or details you send.
We use this only to reply to you, build your sample website and, if you go ahead, set up and look after your site. We don't sell or share it with anyone for marketing. Emails are stored in our Gmail account, which is provided by Google.
If we emailed you first
We sometimes email local businesses a free sample website. We only use a business email address that is publicly listed, for example on your Google listing or Facebook page, and the sample only uses details your business has already made public. We keep a short record of who we've emailed so we never contact the same business twice. Reply “no thanks” and we won't contact you again.
Payments
If you become a customer, payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe's own privacy policy explains how it handles payment information.
How long we keep it
If you don't go ahead, we delete your emails and sample details on request. If you're a customer, we keep what we need to run your website and our business records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to us using it. Just email us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
